Getting a Little Harrowing Done

Nothing on taxes in this post, just a little tractor time for me today before getting back to the tax returns. Only three weeks to go starting tomorrow.

Today’s post has nothing to do with taxes. About five years ago my wife and I bought a 200 acre ranch located in SE Washington state (about 40 miles west of Idaho and about 15 miles north of Oregon). We are located about 15 miles from the Bluewood Ski Resort on the Touchet River.

We had limited internet in the country until about a month ago when we finally got StarLink. This is not an endorsement but if you are in the country and have limited internet, I would highly recommend considering StarLink. We are now able to Stream and I was finally able to set up a home office upstairs in our house. This photo shows the view outside by office.

We fertilized our alfalfa this morning and then I decided to go out and harrow the field. My wife took a video of me on the tractor. I was trying to attach the video but for some reason it only provided audio and doubt if you want to listen to an 80HP Deutz Fahr tractor. The Deutz Fahr is green but not John Deere green but it does a great job for us.

It took exactly two hours to do the 8 acre field and now I am back to working on those pesky tax returns. It is nice to take a small break to do something besides tax returns. Tax season can be tough, but it is our harvest season and as of tomorrow only three weeks to go.
