One of the major benefits to a cloud accounting software like Sage Intacct are its quarterly releases. In this post we’ll highlight exciting enhancements released in Release 4 (R4) on November 11th, 2022, and Release 1 (R1) on February 17th, 2023.

AP Automation

Through September 30th, 2023, Intacct has announced the free general availability of its AP automation add-on. How does it work?

Upload Option:

Once Bill Upload is configured in AP, you’ll see a new Upload button in the AP Bill list screen. From there, you can choose the entity that you are uploading the bill for, choose whether to create a single or multiple line bill, drag and drop your AP Bill PDF, JPG, JPEG, TIFF, or PNG file and have Intacct automatically draft the bill for you.

Here’s a sneak peak at what that process looks like.

Email Option

Once an AP inbox is established (separate email address per entity), you can send an email with vendor invoice attached and have Sage Intacct automatically draft the bill for you.

A few notes:

  • The first time you upload a document, you will be required to populate the Vendor, Expense Accounts, and Dimension coding.
  • The next time you receive the same bill from this Vendor, Intacct will have learned the correct coding of Vendor, Expense Accounts, and Dimension coding and auto-populate this for you.
  • If after testing this functionality you decide you would prefer not to continue using it, you can always stop using the bill upload and Intacct will not charge for the service.

(Beta) List View Enhancements

You may have seen a button to turn on enhanced list views in your Vendor List. This is something you can toggle on or off at any time (note: switching on or off does take a few seconds to load). So if you have a few minutes to spare, it might be worth trying. Eventually these advanced list views will be rolled out to other areas of Sage Intacct as well. Some of the things you can do in the new list view:

  • Drag and drop to reorder columns
  • Easily filter on a column within the view
  • Switch to a side-by-side view of your Vendor Record and the list itself (less clicks!)

New Audit Log Reports

With 2022 R4, Intacct added two new audit history reports to its audit log:

  • Audit History by Object Data Area Report
  • Audit History by User Report

You can install them now from the Customization or Platform Services Packages Library.

In the report below I can easily view Vendor ACH information that has been updated:
