CLA just released their list of top 10 business trends from 2021. I list my top two.

Our firm just released our top ten business trends that occurred in 2021. Many of them are likely to continue in 2022.

Here are my top two from the list:

  • Labor Market Disruption – In our area it is very common to see signs at the local McDonalds trying to hire help starting at $18 per hour. Now our state has one of the highest minimum wages in the Country at about $14 per hour, but even smaller rural communities are seeing the effects of labor disruption especially for farmers.
  • Operational Changes and Workforce Strategy – Similar to the other trend. Farmers will need to be even more creative to attract and retain help on a long-term basis. There are too many other good options for your help.

Both of these will continue to be a major trend for 2022. I think you will enjoy the article.

Also, please note that we had technical difficulties in doing a post yesterday so we are a little late this week.

I was scheduled to fly to Nebraska to speak today (Wednesday) on a flight out of Pasco, Washington on United to Denver. However, the plane had “mechanical” issues and the flight did not occur. Luckily, I was able to get on a Delta flight. Unluckily, I got into Omaha after midnight and got to sleep after 1 am.

This is the joys of winter travel right now.
