This morning I had the privilege of interviewing Bill Northey. Bill was the USDA Undersecretary of Farm Production and Conservation in the Trump Administration.
Some of the key topics that we discussed are:
- How FSA and NCRS functions were consolidated under one umbrella at USDA;
- How payments limits were updated for CFAP and MFP;
- Some discussion on why payment and AGI limits are warranted, but perhaps some adjustments make more sense (such as allowing LLCs and Corporations to have more than one payment limit);
- How climate change may affect farm economics.
