CLA’s investment banking team advises on the sale of Waconia Ford, a long-standing dealership in the Twin Cities metro area.

Today, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP), the eighth largest accounting firm in the United States, announced it helped Tim Curtis find a successor for his Ford dealership in Waconia, Minnesota.

Waconia Ford has been serving communities southwest of the Twin Cities since 1915. Over the years, the dealership has become a recognized landmark on Highway 5, a thoroughfare connecting Waconia and surrounding communities to the Twin Cities metro area.

After operating the dealership for more than 16 years and spearheading notable growth and success, Tim felt the time was right to step aside and focus on other family priorities. After speaking with several high-quality groups, Tim made the decision to transition ownership to one of the best-regarded dealership organizations in the Twin Cities, Fury Motors.

“We are grateful Tim put his trust in our organization to help write the next chapter of the Curtis family and its legacy. It was important to Tim that the next owner of his store understood the people that work there, the customers that trust the dealership, and the reputation Waconia Ford has built in the community,” said Ben Axelrod, head of the investment banking practice at CLA.

“We have known Tom, Jim and Billy at Fury Motors for many years, and the match made a lot of sense to Tim and us,” added Scott Gorden, a senior leader in CLA’s dealership industry practice.

Said Tim Curtis, “I am delighted with the outcome, and I am confident that Fury will continue to provide members of our community with unmatched care and service in the future. The CLA team was a great collaborator for our sales process. The sale journey requires a team with transaction expertise and deep industry knowledge, and I was happy we had CLA at our side the whole way.”
