He offers additional senior-level leadership to the firm’s investment banking and M&A advisory practice, assisting business owners looking to transition ownership of their business.
James brings deep experience helping clients sell their companies across a broad range of industries including industrial manufacturing, specialty distribution, consumer packaged goods, aerospace and defense, technology, and health care.

James has over 20 years of experience in investment banking including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, debt and equity capital raises, and fairness opinions. Prior to joining CLA, James held investment banking positions at firms including Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, and Greif & Co. Most recently, James served as a managing director, Wells Fargo Advisors’ M&A group, where he focused on sell-side middle market M&A transactions.
James holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of California at Berkeley. He holds a juris doctor degree from the University of California at David School of Law and earned his master’s degree in business administration from the New York University. In addition, he holds the following securities industry designations: Series 7 and 63.
