CLA ranks No. 2 among the nation’s top construction accounting firms, earning its seventh consecutive year in the top five.

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP) has earned the No. 2 spot in Construction Executive magazine's 2026 Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms™ ranking. The recognition once again places CLA, one of the nation’s largest accounting and professional services firms with a growing global presence, among the country’s leading firms serving the construction industry. This marks the second consecutive year CLA has ranked No. 2 and continues a streak of being ranked among the top two firms in the nation for the last several years.

Published annually by Construction Executive, the ranking recognizes accounting firms with dedicated construction practices and is based on factors including construction practice revenue, number of CPAs serving the industry, percentage of firm revenue derived from construction clients, geographic reach, longevity of the practice, and the number of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) clients served.

“Construction remains one of the most dynamic and resilient industries in the economy, and we’re proud to continue earning the trust of contractors, developers, and construction-related businesses across the country,” said Paul Bailey, CLA chief growth officer. “Being recognized among the top firms in the nation reflects the deep industry experience of our people and the lasting relationships we’ve built with our clients. We understand the challenges construction leaders face today, from workforce pressures and project financing to tax policy and technology transformation, and we're committed to helping them achieve their goals.”

The recognition reflects the strength and scale of CLA’s construction practice, which serves clients across the heartbeat of the country through a team of dedicated professionals with specialized industry knowledge. From tax planning and assurance services to digital transformation, succession planning, wealth advisory, and business consulting, CLA provides integrated strategies designed specifically for contractors and construction-related businesses.

“Construction companies need more than technical capabilities. They need advisors who understand their industry, anticipate what’s ahead, and help them make informed decisions in real time,” said Tim Mahoney, managing principal of CLA’s construction industry. “This recognition reflects our team’s unwavering focus on helping clients address complex challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and build stronger organizations for the future. We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us every day.”

CLA’s most recent Heartbeat Index survey included insights specific to its construction industry clients. Three times a year, CLA surveys clients on economic indicators. According to the survey released in July, 75 percent of clients indicated inflation as the top business challenge, specifically calling out materials, fuel, interest rates and regulatory policy. Seventy percent of clients pinpointed attracting talent as a top workplace concern, with many respondents specifically sharing the challenge of developing and retaining skilled workers.
