Joel Perez

Overview

Joel is a seasoned public accounting professional. He has 30 years of experience working with state and local governments across the state of Texas. In addition to building, developing, and recruiting high-performing teams and bringing such teams to his clients, he is known for delivering value added solutions to his clients. He also has a great understanding of government operations and financial reporting standards, as well as experience working with executive management, boards of directors, audit committees, and elected officials. This experience provides him with the skills necessary to consult, assess, and implement practical business solutions for his clients.

Specific government operations and financial reporting experience include state agencies, local municipalities, water utilities, river authorities, various transportation authorities (toll, transit, cruise, and airport), school districts, pension and retirement plans, treasury, investment pools, hospitality venues (hotels and convention centers), housing and economic development authorities, foundations, and private/charter schools.

Joel also participates as an instructor providing technical accounting and reporting updates at industry trade association conferences, enhancing the professional development of industry participants.
