Jim Milliken

Overview

Experienced in leadership positions within private real estate development firms and property management companies. 

Jim has worked extensively with lenders on originations and refinances to agency loans through various local and global institutions.  With a strong accounting background, Jim ensures accuracy in the details and transparency with his clients. Through his experiences, Jim developed and operated investor reporting systems, designed, and built accounting departments, and optimized corporate structure with changing tax law.  Jim has executed 1031 exchanges, negotiated and restructured troubled assets, and led ERP software transitions.

Jim is a leader in the Chicago Real Estate division of CLA’s outsourcing practice (BizOps).  His team of real estate accounting professionals serves clients in various capacities from daily transactional recordkeeping to CFO-level.  Typical clients include small businesses looking for added accounting support and while Jim focuses in Real Estate, CLA’s BizOps practice covers most trades with industry-specific professionals who are well versed in applicable software and best practices.
