Overview
Reed is a Managing Principal of Service – Tax. In this role, he leads the firm’s individual, trust, estate, and gift practice and is a key contributor to Private Client Services, where he brings tax and wealth planning together in a coordinated approach for clients. Reed advises high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses, with a focus on addressing needs holistically and strengthening long-term relationships.
He provides guidance on tax planning and compliance, estate and gift planning, entity structuring, and accounting for income taxes. Reed also advises on complex transactions and long-term planning, supports clients through IRS controversies, and works extensively with multi-state, closely held businesses, bringing a clear understanding of the reporting and compliance challenges they face.
Reed previously served for 9 years as Managing Principal of the Sacramento office, where he led the local practice and team development.
He has deep experience in federal and multi-state taxation across industries including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and real estate.
