Salvador Castaneda

Overview

Salvador has 15 years of experience working in the fruit industry in the Yakima Valley. Prior to Ag, Salvador worked in banking as a teller all through high school & college. After graduating from CWU he started working for a community based organization that served socially disadvantage latino growers get USDA assistance through our local FSA office preparing business plans and USDA forms. Salvador also worked for multiple fruit packers (apples, cherries, pears, peaches, nectarines, apricots) in the grower accounting department, gaining extensive knowledge on how the bins are received, packed, sold and the pool sales allocated by grade, size or pack type to create a grower return settlement. Salvador returned back to school during Covid while working full time and was able to graduate for a second time, earning an accounting degree. He decided to pursue public accounting and joined CLA in August 2022.
