On July 31, 2018, the fiscal year 2019 (FY19) Medicare Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) final rule was released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
In addition to updating the Quality Reporting Program (QRP) and the SNF Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) program, and finalizing the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM), this final rule updates the 2019 payment rates for the SNF Prospective Payment System (PPS). CMS projects that payments to SNFs will increase by $820 million in FY19.
