Jill Sigelman

Overview

Jill has more than 20 years of reimbursement experience. She started her career working for two Medicare fiscal intermediaries, Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska and TrailBlazer Health Enterprises in Dallas, TX.  In those roles, Jill developed her passion for reimbursement.  Jill was responsible for completing audits, training, setting rates, interpreting complex rules and regulations, and ultimately supervising staff performing these tasks for providers throughout the United States.  Jill was responsible for training and supervision over the wage index, audit process, and changes in Medicare rules and regulations.

Jill gained significant insight into the hospital world while working on the provider side. She spent 6 years on the provider side working for Tenet Healthcare in Dallas, Texas and Sanford Health based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

At Tenet Healthcare, Jill served as the Audit Manager where she was responsible for the Medicare and Medicaid audits of all of Tenet's hospitals across the United States. This included providing documentation and dispute resolution of proposed and final audit adjustments primarily on large hospital areas such as, Medicare DSH, medical education, organ acquisition, home office, and Medicare bad debts.

Jill spent 5 years at Sanford Health as the Director of Reimbursement where she was responsible for Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, home office cost reporting, wage index and occupational mix surveys, month and year end close for third party and contractual adjustments, budget for contractual adjustments, financial forecasting, and identifying reimbursement opportunities for Sanford's facilities.  At Sanford Health, Jill was accountable for the day-to-day reimbursement operations of both Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Critical Access (CAH) hospitals located in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa.

Jill previously worked for CLA during 2006 to 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was happy to rejoin the firm in 2014. Jill enjoys working with clients and draws on her varied experiences at the Medicare fiscal intermediary, within hospital systems and in the consulting realm to help ensure success for her clients.
