Andy Huss

Overview

Andrew has extensive experience in accounting, tax, financial reporting, and administration of private equity funds, real estate funds, REITs, and venture capital funds. He is well versed in navigating the governing documents of funds and investments and maintains a proven track record of advising clients on complex fund structures and investments. As a principal, Andrew leads business development for the fund administration service line.

Prior to joining CLA, Andrew co-founded the Minneapolis office of a boutique fund administration firm where he led and developed teams to provide quality focused fund administration to private equity and real estate funds. He successfully grew the office while also championing several significant process improvements firmwide.

Before venturing into fund administration, Andrew was the Senior Manager of Accounting and Controller of Real Estate for a registered investment adviser which had over $8 billion of assets under management at its peak. The private funds managed by the adviser primarily invested in distressed companies, companies undergoing bankruptcy or reorganization and special situations.

Andrew started his career at a Big 4 public accounting firm where he spent five years specializing in partnership tax within the alternative investment space including private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, fund of funds, and hybrid funds.
