Jay Burstein

Overview

Jay has more than 30 years of consulting, financial, and operating experience in a wide range of industries. As a principal at CLA, he helps clients improve their financial operations and decision making ability through customized outsourcing services - freeing their time from finance and accounting operations, so they can focus on managing their organizations. His experience includes Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, private equity accounting, financial analysis, and interim CFO services. He also provided oversight of IT functions, mergers and acquisitions, system conversions, and internal audit.

 Jay's prior roles include serving as an engagement manager, then CFO of Accounting Management Solutions (AMS) for 10 years before merging with CLA. He has also served as CFO and COO for an $8 million venture capital backed, multinational company engaged in website development, software localization, and translation of printed materials, VP and Controller of a $150 million financial services subsidiary of State Street Bank, and CFO of a $220 million mutual fund and bank services operating unit of First Data Corporation where he also held several general management roles. He began his career in public accounting with Coopers & Lybrand and is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts.
