National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives awards Brandenburg a Silver Bowl for his contributions to the society and the cooperative community.

Today, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP), the eighth largest accounting firm in the United States, announced Jeff Brandenburg, retired managing principal of industry at CLA, was recognized with a Silver Bowl award by the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC) at its annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. NSAC is a professional society whose members are involved with the financial management and planning of cooperative business.

The Silver Bowl is the most prestigious award NSAC leadership bestows to members of the cooperative industry, recognizing those who have distinguished themselves with service that enhanced the image and operations of the society and the cooperative community.

“Jeff has been instrumental in so many peoples’ lives and businesses,” said Mark Juedes, principal, CLA. “He has helped in the advancement of their careers, mentored others personally and professionally, and without a doubt, always had a commitment to the cooperative industry.”

Juedes continued, “You could go to him with any question, and he would give a genuine, thoughtful response. If he didn’t know the answer, he would reach out to the right resources, or connect you with them … and then follow up until he knew you received what you needed.”

Brandenburg became a dedicated NSAC member in 1986, and served as national president and represented the Great Lakes Chapter as a national director and president. Over the years, he played a substantial role in contributing to the education of cooperative accounting.

“Jeff worked tirelessly and when he was committed, you knew it was going to get done and he would strive for the highest quality,” said Jim Halvorsen, principal, CLA. “That level of ownership, while it may not seem extraordinary, is rare today.”

Upon his retirement, Brandenburg had nearly 40 years of experience in public accounting and spent 36 of them as a member of NSAC and other professional organizations. His wealth of knowledge made a mark on the cooperative community and all those he encountered.
