Linda Saddlemire Legacy Book

California principal joins authors from around the world in guiding and inspiring others to change the world through sustainable business practices.

Linda Saddlemire, principal with CLA in Glendora, California, is a contributing author to Legacy: The Sustainable Development Goals in Action, a new book about how people are adopting, embracing, and applying sustainable development goals and directly changing the world.

Legacy: The Sustainable Development Goals in Action is available in print and Kindle formats.

Published by Buy1GIVE1 (B1G1) and Dean Publishing and released on Amazon July 17, 2019, Legacy features commentary from a collection of 52 changemakers who are dedicated to creating global change through business. It covers all of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals that were launched in 2015.

In her chapter titled “Partnerships for the Goals,” Saddlemire shares practical, everyday solutions on how business owners, individuals, and nonprofits can partner to change the trajectory of the world.

“This book offers such great insights on how the business community, no matter your size, can actively contribute to creating a better world and leaders can share their ‘why’,” Saddlemire said.

Saddlemire’s embrace of global giving started in an academic way while learning about corporate social responsibiliy in graduate school. After witnessing social inequality and poverty first hand in South Africa, she realized that businesses have a responsibility to address the social, economic, environmental, and public health needs of communities. That idea has stuck with her over her 36-year career and informed her professional life ever since.

In addition to her leadership in the B1G1 initiative, Saddlemire serves on the board of directors for the CLA Foundation and is a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Council. She recently joined the B1G1 giving board and will spearhead efforts to identify more U.S.-based charities that the B1G1 community can support.

“Linda is an excellent example of what social responsibility means to the CLA Family,” said Denny Schleper, CEO for CLA. “Her leadership in the Legacy project has helped us all gain a better understanding of what we can all do, and should be doing, to bring about change in our world.”

“If you want to exist as a company in the future, you have to go beyond. You actually have to make a positive contribution,” said Paul Polman, chair of the International Chamber of Commerce and former CEO of Unilever, in the the book’s foreword.

Legacy: The Sustainable Development Goals in Action, can be ordered online in print and Kindle formats.
