State and Local Government Roundtable Series
A series of quarterly roundtable discussions for government finance and operations executives is being conducted at CliftonLarsonAllen offices across the country. These informal peer-to-peer meetings provide state and local government leaders with the opportunity to share insights and ideas on timely topics, while networking with colleagues from other jurisdictions. The sessions are ideal for CFOs, controllers, financial managers, and other decision makers.
Quarter 4 topic: Improving the revenue budgeting process
If you’re like many state and local government leaders, you have analyzed and cut as much as you can from your expense budgets, and will have to react immediately to any revenue variances, especially negative ones, in order to maintain a balanced budget.
Join us for a facilitated roundtable discussion to share challenges and insights related to improving the revenue budgeting process. Topics will vary by location, but may include:
- The risk of changes in your federal, state, local, and other revenue streams from year to year and month to month
- The dependency of your locality on various revenues, and “early warning” detection systems to identify changes in those streams
- How to effectively use new information identified in the retrospective review and update of your revenue budgeting model
