Over the past two years there have been unprecedented ICD-10-CM diagnostic code and guideline modifications. Annual updates for inpatient and long-term coding in 2022 will also be significant.

This webinar will cover updates to ICD-10-CM diagnostic codes that will take effect October 1, 2021.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Review new COVID-19 diagnostic codes for post COVID sequela infections
  • Discuss rules regarding coding for COVID-19 infections and other new COVID-19 codes
  • Provide clarifications of the exceptions to code from clinicians’ documentation other than the patient’s primary provider in eight different areas
  • Discuss the critical need for providers and coders to work collaboratively to promote complete and timely documentation to support coding and billing requirements

Who should attend

This session is designed for outpatient, inpatient and physician coding and billing staff, chargemaster and revenue integrity specialists, coding management staff, and physicians.
