With an influx of additional funding, Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans are currently among the most sought-after funding options to help nonprofits employ their teams and serve their communities. However, the focus is now turning to forgiveness. In our first nonprofit CARES Act webinar, we received more than 200 questions. Most questions were related to loan forgiveness: what, when, and how expenses can be included in forgiveness, as well as how potentially forgivable expenses interact with other grant funding.
While we are awaiting Treasury guidance on these questions, we anticipate it will be issued in advance of this webinar. In part two we will provide forgiveness example scenarios, walk through an estimator tool, share tips about documentation to maintain during your eight-week window, and answer your questions.
Additional guidance on PPP forgiveness had yet to be issued, but there were still plenty of hot topics to cover. Our updated agenda included:
