- Neenah, WI
Dental practices have been able to thrive as small, independent businesses. However, there are a number of economic factors today that are threatening the way our practices have traditionally operated. With the looming threats of increased competition and decreasing revenue, dentists will benefit from learning how to think like a CEO. In this workshop, Dr. Salierno will educate attendees on how to use popular management models to reimagine their businesses. Participants will complete worksheets and discuss specific strategies for their own practices.
Chris Salierno, DDS, is the editor-in-chief of Dental Economics and a general dentist from Long Island, New York. He graduated from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2005, and has since served as the national president of the American Student Dental Association, chair of the ADA New Dentist Committee, and as president of his local dental society. Dr. Salierno lectures internationally on clinical dentistry, practice management, and leadership development, and his material can be viewed on his blog, The Curious Dentist. In 2017 he became a chief development officer with Cellerant Consulting Group.
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Develop a unique business model, including considerations like customer segments and value propositions
- Apply business management models to the modern dental practice
- Identify weak systems and strategize ways to strengthen them
- Increase case acceptance with proper presentation
