Automation and Going Paperless with Back Office Accounting with Cloud Based Applications
Samuel Owl, Manager, Tribal Services and BizOps Kris Nixon, Principal, Tribal Services

Technology has fundamentally changed what is possible in modern accounting systems and applications. While some accounting systems have maintained the status quo, others have adapted to the changing needs of organizations and the marketplace. When focusing on operational improvement and cost savings, many organizations are looking to technology to solve issues related to back office accounting. We will cover what it looks like to transform your back office; discussing internal controls, the use of APIs (application programming interfaces) in modern accounting systems, and many benefits of migrating to cloud based systems. In addition, the presentation will provide recommended areas for you to focus on and the questions you should be asking.

This session will cover the following:

  • Requirements of the NIGC MICS including discussion on commonly missed requirements
  • Recent additional guidance the NIGC has issued
  • The importance of the various requirements and how they help protect the assets of the casino
