Conversations between global nonprofit organizations and their funders are often reduced to scrutinizing overhead expense ratios, net asset reserves, and compensation levels. This focus on disconnected measures often ignores programmatic outcomes and the effective pursuit of an organization’s mission. The result: misinformed investment from funders, ineffective spending by nonprofits, and hampered progress toward organizational goals.
During our webinar, Deconstrucing the Overhead Myth: Financial Reporting, we discussed common challenges that global nonprofits face due to distorted analysis and evaluation by the giving community, watchdog agencies, and the public. It also suggested solutions to shift conversations from random metrics to maximizing the use of financial reporting to show the effectiveness of contributions and programs.
This webinar took place on September 9, 2014, with Marie Caputo and Adam Pyzdrowski presenting.
