Overview
Adam has been in public accounting since January 2015, when he joined Bruner Cox LLP in Canton, Ohio as a tax associate. (Bruner Cox was acquired by CliftonLarsonAllen in July of 2016.) From January 2015 through October 2019, Adam's focus was primarily on non-profit tax compliance with additional tax compliance work for manufacturing, service, individuals, trusts, and estates.
In November 2019, Adam moved fromt CLA's tax group to the BizOps group. Adam currently performs outsourced accounting services for nonprofit, construction, and real estate clients.
Adam is extremely well-versed in data analysis and highly competent with Microsoft Excel, so he is also called upon to assist with special consulting projects requiring manipulation of large quantities of data. Recent special projects include litigation support (labor-side) in an employment class action lawsuit involving underpayment of overtime, and development of a method for calculation of the annual tax LIFO adjustment for a $1 billion retailer.
Prior to entering public accounting, Adam worked as a high school science teacher (Copley High School in Akron, Ohio) for one year (October 1999-June 2000) and then as a college administrator (The University of Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio) for more than fourteen years (August 2000-December 2014).
Education
Adam attended Youngstown State University from 1995-1999, graduating with a BS in Secondary Education - Comprehensive Science in August of 1999. Later, he attended The University of Akron from 2004-2009, graduating with a MS in Accountancy in May of 2009.
In the community
Adam currently serves as the Treasurer of St. John's Villa in Carrollton, Ohio, an organization that provides housing and vocational opportunites for adults with severe developmental and cognitive disabilities.
Prior to that, Adam delivered meals for Meals on Wheels of Stark and Wayne Counties, and provided general labor assistance for theĀ Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank.
