Matthew Claeys


Matt has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, devoted almost exclusively to the health care industry. His background includes extensive experience in conducting and issuing external audit opinions on financial statements of health care institutions, primarily hospitals and health systems, senior health systems and physician organizations. Matt has presented nationally regarding health care reform to senior living and health system organizations. Matt has prepared, filed and reviewed numerous Medicare and Medicaid cost reports throughout the United States, assisted with integration and audit of hospital/clinic health care organizations, and reviewed and assisted with contracts between physician and hospital in these organizations. Matt has assisted with the development of managed care plans and auditing of health plans. He has been involved in providing outsourcing services to large health care systems; specifically setting up internal audit programs, performing assessments of the internal audit process and providing financial leadership services.


Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, MN, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Wyoming, Illinois, and Minnesota.

He is a member of the Texas Chapter of Health Care Financial Management Association, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
