Barbie Housewright

Overview

Barbie has over 17 years of diverse banking experience. For the past four years, she served as ISO and network administrator for a $270 million community bank in eastern Iowa. During this time she developed, implemented, maintained and improved upon the information security policies, procedures, processes, practices and systems. She was charged with the creation, management and testing of the Information Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Response, and Identity Theft Red Flag Programs, as well as Electronic Banking Compliance.

In addition to compliance duties, Barbie managed and supported the network for the financial institution. She planned, monitored and patched the network supporting nine banking and insurance office locations in three cities. She also served as help desk and training advisor.

Barbie began building Cyberstein Academy in 2017 as a means to satisfy cybersecurity awareness training needs specific to a financial institution. During the beta stages she built the program into a platform for business information security training ranging from end users to executives charged with information security compliance. She developed the website and customized the learning management system to deliver training videos, testing procedures and completion certification. She built training programs to provide financial institutions with regulatory compliance training for staff, management and executives alike. She also created content for the information security awareness blog.

Prior to her banking career, Barbie spend 6 years working for a small CPA firm. She performed bookkeeping and financial statement preparation for corporations in the hospitality industry.
