Nat Bartholomew

Overview

As the principal leading CLA’s associations and membership organizations practice, Nat is responsible for directing the professional team serving more than 2,800 association clients. He has 35 years of public accounting experience, and for 31 of those years, Nat has exclusively served nonprofit clients and is a nationally recognized professional in the audit, accounting, tax, and technology issues these organizations and their related for-profit affiliates face.

Nat is a frequent speaker and author, and has addressed the memberships of ASAE and the AICPA, plus several of the country’s leading nonprofits on such topics as benchmarking and trend analyses, fraud and embezzlement, risk assessment and internal controls, cost allocation methodologies, unrelated business income mitigation strategies, state and local tax compliance matters, whistleblower policies and code of ethics issues, audit committees, reserves, investments, federal Form 990, and dashboard reporting. As an active member of ASAE & the Center, Nat is a former member of the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee, and former chair of the Investment Committee. Nat was also a past chair of the Industry Partner Alliance and the honorary Key Consultants Committee and a former member of the Finance & Business Operations Section Council. He has served on ASAE’s Operating Ratio Report (ORR) committee, was a member of the Associations @ Work Conference Planning Committee and was a team leader for two XDP Conferences.
