Shireen is an experienced healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience in Revenue Cycle leadership, lean process improvement, and technology deployment.
She has twelve years of Revenue Cycle experience in two $1 billion integrated delivery systems. She implemented a $5 million revenue cycle improvement program that achieved at 2.5% annual margin improvement. She was responsible for a $1.4 billion revenue stream including both the hospital and the professional revenue cycle supporting 1,100 employed physicians, where she improved receivables performance to world-class levels while reducing collection cost. She also led an innovative and successful program to improve risk score for both commercial and government populations.
Shireen is an Industrial Engineer by training and is Lean Certified through Shingijutsu Global Consulting. She spent eight years with one of the pioneering organizations introducing Lean/Kaizen tools into healthcare, leading a number of initiatives as the model evolved from a centralized support function to a department-embedded one.
She has served in various roles supporting technology deployment and technology-enabled process improvement on both the IT and operations side. She played an integral role in a three-year, “big bang” migration to Epic as the revenue cycle business owner and champion for that and the optimization work that followed. As an IT consultant, she has led technology assessments to plan solutions architecture strategy and identify opportunities to leverage underutilized application functionality.
