Overview
With more than 30 years of finance and accounting experience, Nancy Brown is a CPA and serves as CLA's Chief Seamless Officer. In this role, she supports our Service, Industry and Marketing teams. We use our depth of industry knowledge to continuously adapt to our clients’ needs, shaping our services to meet the demands of each specific industry. And our service capabilities are embedded within each industry group, positioning us as a key business advisor to our clients. Working together as one team, our approach is to work together as cross-functional teams to bring the CLA Promise to life with our clients. We believe that if we get to know our clients better, then our integrated approach will help us deliver a seamless client experience.
Nancy also serves on the firm's Board of Directors as well as CLA's Leadership Team supporting a variety of firm-wide initiatives. Prior roles at CLA include Chief Outsourcing Officer, Managing Principal of Consulting & Accounting Solutions Team and serving on the Quality / Risk Committee which supports the firm's annual inspection process.
Nancy was previously an audit manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also served as manager of finance at Cogentrix, manager of financial planning at Computer Power and controller of Strategic Outsourcing, Inc. She has significant experience in building teams focused on growth as well as financial analysis of products and business lines, month-end closing, financial reporting, corporate budgeting and management reporting.
Education
Awarded a Morehead Scholarship to UNC-Chapel Hill; Earned her B.S. in Accounting from UNC - Charlotte.
In the community
Nancy is a past board member and treasurer for Women Executives as well as a past board member, finance committee member and board chair on the Harris YMCA Board of Advisors. She also served on the Proverbs 31 Ministries Board of Directors and its finance committee. She is an active member of Forest Hill Church where she has served as a youth group leader, was involved in Women Under Construction, and started and led the former Newcomer's ministry. Nancy also led a Women's LifeGroup and has participated in an international missions trip.
